SDCC 2012: What I Ate/Drank

The Gaslamp District is a HUGE reason why I would not want SDCC to move to another location, even though it kinda desperately needs to.  It’s a great area, tons of places to eat (we’ve hardly even made a dent), and it’s really nice (at least until the party element comes out, and then it gets suuuuper skeevy with buttcheek-showing, skintight, strapless dresses and 6″ spiked heels and a bunch of drunken bros).  But during the day, it’s nice, especially if you move off of 5th Street which is where most of the crowds and promo-pushers are.

SDCC 2012: What I Saw (Booth edition)

Since vendors tend to go all out for SDCC, I thought I’d post some pics from some of the booths (both inside the Exhibit Hall and outside in surrounding areas).  However, I don’t have a pic of the infamous Hobbit trolls since I there was a huge line and everyone wanted to pose with them.  Eff that.

I also used to have a picture of the exhibit hall on preview night up there, but I took it down for copyright reasons.  Instead there is a completely accurate and realistic drawing by me of what the exhibit hall looks like.

SDCC 2012: What I Saw

Taking cosplay pictures at SDCC is extremely difficult from the sheer number of people (130,000).  I’m usually caught up in a wave of people, so that even if I do see something, it’s almost impossible to stop and take a picture of it.  Also, there’s the usual traffic problems.  And then there’s the problem of EVERYONE wanting to take a picture of someone who did a fantastic job, and you can tell the person posing is getting tired because when they think they’re done, someone else comes running up (me) and wants one last picture.  There is never one last picture.

SDCC 2012: What I Watched

Last weekend was the last and biggest con of the year that I attend: San Diego Comic Con.

Comic-Con Book Haul

I bought NINE books at Comic-con.  Nine very heavy books.  That I had to lug around with me.  And that still wasn’t all the books I wanted to buy.
