My bacteria get a new addition to the family.
Answer: TOO MUCH STUFF.
Due to ALA being the week before AX and SDCC coming up in a week, I really restricted my spending this year.
Due to ALA being within easy driving distance this year, the library offered to pay for our ticket to attend. This was my first ALA conference.
Basically what going to a convention feels like. Nerd flu abounds!
I don’t think I got nerd flu this con. *knock on wood* However, one of my friends did! It’s pretty much inevitable, when you’re surrounded by people where washing hands and taking baths is optional, and people will glomp you (i.e., violently hug you, frequently without your permission).
I did get much cooler stuff though, although not nearly as much as I usually do. I was somewhat hampered by the knowledge I was flying back, so nothing that I wouldn’t be able to fit in my already crowded suitcase.
So… I bought a lot of books.
(Note: this is not my dog. This is what my dog would look like, if I were to have one.)
March 16-18: Wondercon (Anaheim)
May 25-28: Fanime (San Jose) (still need to get flight… somehow)
June 29-2: Anime Expo (Los Angeles)
July 12-15: Comic-Con (San Diego)
Whew. Just got the SDCC ones today. Luckily Team Terrible Cult had a pro who managed to skip the busted link (that I and the other friend were trying to use), and he was 2569 which is AMAZING (Shaz and I were 22000 and 23000 after we figured out the link wasn’t working), so after he got all of our tickets, I snagged an early bird hotel room, so now we are all set (at least, once we get our parking spot near the convention).
And two other friends managed to get their tickets, too, so we could have a giant geektastic friend gathering.
Wondercon in 2 weeks to kick off our nerdtastic con circuit! Of course, I’m broke now after buying all the SDCC stuff… I might be able to only pick up Womanthology if IDW’s having a con deal (please, please, have a con deal……).
I bought NINE books at Comic-con. Nine very heavy books. That I had to lug around with me. And that still wasn’t all the books I wanted to buy.
So, what did I get?
