All right, forget it, this is just going to be a book blog, and not specifically a manga blog, as this is getting out of hand.
Major spoilers ahead, so do not read further if you haven’t caught up yet, and intend to.
I decided to break this up, because with my limited attention and memory span, I tend to forget things.
Revelation #1: Reek is Theon.
So that disgusting, smelly, sniveling creature was once the proud Theon Greyjoy. To be honest, I couldn’t remember if this was mentioned in book 4. I believe Reek was in FFC, and I can remember him being a pathetic creature. It is hard for me to believe that this is Theon. I really have to go back and read the books to see how he could possibly come to this. When the men figured out who he was, I was sitting there thinking, “…what? They must be mistaken.”
Okay, one sec. I couldn’t remember when we had last seen Theon, so I just picked up my book 2 (the only one I own besides DwD), and Theon is talking about Reek… hold on while I reread the last Theon chapter.
Ooo, okay, so Reek was Ramsey Bolton in disguise, and when Ramsey turned on the traitorous Theon, he must’ve made Theon his Reek.
Man, I really need to reread these fresh.
Revelation #2: Rhaegar Targaryen’s son Aegon is alive? What?
At least I think that’s what just happened. Tyrion is traveling with a group, and he just figured out that Young Griff and Griff are Aegon and Rhaegar’s best friend, Jon Connington. This I am still digesting as I cannot believe this either. So what’s going to happen with Dany, now that her nephew has suddenly turned up?
Event catchup from FFC: Davos just got sentenced to death.
I remember his death mentioned in FFC and was all, “Hey! What happened!” And now I know. Those horrible terrible Freys. GOD I HATE THEM. And then they LIED ABOUT THE RED WEDDING. The only one who believed Davos was a defiant girl, who got hauled off after siding with Davos.
That’s how far I’ve gotten so far. I’m about a quarter of the way through the book at the moment. Other concerns that have occurred: Dany’s losing control of her dragons and her people, the slaves are discovering that maybe freedom isn’t that great when everyone is dirt poor and becoming surly, Jon is trying to save the wildlings, his men, and the rest of the land without pissing off Stannis (not working), Bran is exploring his skinjumping powers. Apparently the Starks are Wargs and able to occupy and control other beings’ minds.
