Yeah, I’m almost caught up! Except this is when I started watching a TON of anime because all this amazing stuff came out! I can barely keep up now! Fall is insane. I’m pretty sure Winter 2014 will return to normal levels of 3 or 4 shows though because so far, all I’m looking forward to is Sailor Moon, Space Dandy, and Silver Spoon 2.
All of the following anime are streamed at Crunchyroll, except Blood Lad, which is Hulu.
With me being horrible at updating this blog and in a funk, practically a whole year has gone by without me talking about anime. So I’m going to do this in season chunks still with what I tried and what I stuck with, it’s just really late…
The problem with doing this so late, is my memory really fades on the mediocre and meh anime.
Winter 2013 anime season has
started finished eons ago*! Of course my number one primo anticipation was Chihayafuru 2. The club is looking to get some new recruits and eyeballing the current crop of first-years, while the ladies of the first-years are eyeballing Taichi. With the first episode I wasn’t sure about the first obvious eventual member, but by the second I could see she would at least be interesting and not as annoying as I feared. The second member is… odd. Anyway, I’m excited to see where this is going to go! (10 month later note: This season was poorly paced and relied heavily on flashbacks. I still greatly enjoyed it, especially the final episodes, but it did get pretty draggy at times. At least there was more Arata in this season eventually, and I got to hear his lovely Fukui accent.)
I would’ve been happy with just Chihayafuru 2, but so far I’ve found maybe a couple of other anime to watch as well, along with continuing Psycho-Pass and Space Brothers from previous seasons.
*NOTE: Okay, I was going through old posts and what not and for some reason this never posted? And of course it’s now fall… -_-; ANYWAY, I just threw it up now as is with some edits about dropping etc.
Wow, was summer 2012 disappointing or what? Disastrous. Such promise, and there was almost zero follow through.
Haha, you’re so silly Mr. Bread… o_o
Summer’s here already, and three spring anime are done (tsuritama, Kids on the Slope, and Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine). These were all extremely excellent anime and I’m so sorry to see them finish. Summer is emptier without them. I’m continuing on with Space Brothers and Kuroko’s Basketball, and bidding Jormungand goodbye for now (it’s reached meh territory–I really don’t care about any of the characters with the exception of Valmet). With summer, I thought I would only be watching Moyashimon Returns, but to my surprise, picked up four other seemingly strong anime, so I’m still holding at seven anime a week (on top of an old one, Skip Beat, because I love the manga so much and discovered Crunchyroll had the anime).
This spring season is the most exciting and promising season of anime in a long, long, time. FIVE anime that I’m actually interested in watching! Usually it’s at most 1-3, and I will end up being bored and dropping them halfway through. Let’s see how long I can maintain these series!
