Taking cosplay pictures at SDCC is extremely difficult from the sheer number of people (130,000). I’m usually caught up in a wave of people, so that even if I do see something, it’s almost impossible to stop and take a picture of it. Also, there’s the usual traffic problems. And then there’s the problem of EVERYONE wanting to take a picture of someone who did a fantastic job, and you can tell the person posing is getting tired because when they think they’re done, someone else comes running up (me) and wants one last picture. There is never one last picture.
The Robot from Lost in Space. I’m actually not sure if someone was inside it or not.
* *
Earthworm Jim. He was really neat, because his mouth would move perfectly when he spoke.
* *
Katniss Everdeen from Hunger Games
**
Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service. She was adorable.
* *
The Train Engineer from School House Rock: Conjunction Junction. Hope you all have an earworm now. That is, if you’re old enough.
* *
Galactus from Silver Surfer. This guy was AMAZING. He was also EXTREMELY difficult to get a picture of because EVERYONE wanted to get a picture personally with him, and I do not take pictures of random strangers in my cosplay. I had to stand there, exasperated. Note the teeny little Silver Surfer attached to his arm. Malvitas pointed it out, ’cause I totally missed it. Made him 1000x cooler. Galactus, not Malvitas.
* *
Draculaura and Ghoulia Yelps from Monster High. I do not know why I like this completely ridiculous girlie web cartoon. I’ve hardly seen any eps. I just absolutely love the character designs. I was unable to get the SDCC exclusive this year though of Scarah Screams, a banshee. However, these two were super cute, even if I suspect they were booth babes. Draculaura is in her Sweet 1600 party dress (’cause she’s a 1600 years vampire) and Ghoulia is in her SDCC cosplay of Dead Fast (her favorite zombie superhero–she’s also a zombie).
* *
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn from Batman, steampunk versions. I don’t care what anyone else says, I love steampunk. And these two were extremely cute and well done renditions of their characters.
* *
Petyr Baelish or Littlefinger, from A Game of Thrones. As you can see, he was jaw-droppingly good. Like, holy crap. But it’s so subtle, I totally missed him, until again, Malvitas pointed him out.
* *
Scarecrow (sort of from Arkham Asylum. He’s got the needle hands, but his head is off). The Joker from The Dark Knight, Harley Quinn from Arkham Asylum, and Mr. Freeze (variant unknown). I’m not sure which version of Mr. Freeze this is due to the odd helmet. Usually he has a clear dome on over his head.
* *
Arthur and The Tick, along with creator Ben Edlund (holding The Spoon) from The Tick. They are the live action TV versions as opposed to the cartoon version (which I greatly prefer).
* *
Sif (from Thor), cross playing Captain America, cross playing Thor from the Marvel Universe. Alternative cosplay is my absolute favorite, where it’s either cross play or different takes (see steampunk Ivy and Harley and the following cosplay).
* *
Medieval Justice League (featuring Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman). Okay, I’m having a problem with the red and pink woman. She LOOKS like Scarlet Witch, but that makes no sense, since Wanda is from Marvel, not DC. And why’s she have an abacus? The only thing I can think of is she hexed her way into the DC Universe. I mean, I can’t think of anyone else with that red/pink combo and with the two pointy things on her head. I actually wouldn’t mind doing a similar cosplay myself… will have to discuss with Shaz.
If anyone knows for sure or has any suggestions who the red/pink lady is, please leave a comment.
UPDATE: Mystery solved! It IS the Scarlet Witch! Green Lantern left a comment saying it was a combo universe effort and Medieval Spidey was attending a panel. Thanks Green Lantern! My mind is at ease now. 😀

MY EYES. THEY BURN.
Cross playing Slave Leia from Star Wars. (Picture courtesy of Terra) All righty, I try not to post really soul-scarring cosplay here, but this guy did this ON PURPOSE, so he is totally fair game, in my mind. Hilarious, yet also extremely disturbing.

So to counteract that horribleness…
Some super cute ponies. This is my friend Fey (the first Rarity) and her friends who did a giant pony cosplay. Back row, L to R: Rarity, Rarity (not sure why they had 2 Raritys), Queen Chrysalis, Princess Celestia, Discord, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie. Front row, L to R: Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash. This group was extremely popular, and made several big internet lists.

Ok, hope that last cosplay cleared your brain of any residual trauma that may be lurking from Slave Leia.

Nice pix! 🙂
Thanks!
I already tried naming that pink and red character and you know how that turned out, lol.
I think with the ponies, it was a mishmash of different groups in that pic so that’s why there are two Raritys. From what I know, Rarity 1 (BEST RARITY), Celestia, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Rainbow Dash were all the in the same group.
To conclude, MORE SDCC POSTS! I wanna comment on them ALL ❤
Aha! I see now that you mention it, Best Rarity’s group all have the same type of ears. I had assumed they were one group because of no overlap except for the Raritys.
My best guess on the pink chick is still a Star Saphire, but it doesn’t really fit. I love the pony group and the Petyr Baelish is fantastic! He looks just like the actor too. Very well done.
Must cosplay next year!
It is Scarlet Witch, we were a combo of Marvel/DC characters Spiderman was in a panel when you took this shot. 😀 -Medieval Green Lantern
Nice! Okay, that makes more sense, and I’m so glad this was settled. Thank you for clearing that up! Loved your guys’ group!
No prob! Great shot of us. I actually like the theory that she hexed her way into the DCU, I’ll have to tell her.
Kiki = adorable. Actually all those costumes are marvelous. People spend so much time on them!
How come you don’t cosplay anymore?
Because my cosplay partner’s been across the country or preggers. We’re planning on restarting though next year! We just need to figure out what we want to do.
Yay! I can’t wait. You could take pictures of your costumes-in-progress and show them on your blog!
